Good for kids Hockey electronics

You know what, I bought this for the NHL and the NHL works great. Madden blows, but the port was probably a little more difficult, and it's the arcade hockey that gets everyone excited, right? I just wish the instructions for the NHL were a bit clearer as I'm only used to the earlier ones and the learning curve was uncomfortable for about a week. Just imitate it. The price is indeed a bit steep for what it is: two Genesis games, one of which barely works.

  • Very good price

NHL 95 is the best game EVER

WOW! NHL 95 is probably my favorite sports game of all time. I could play it with my buddies for hours and the intensity and laughter never stopped! It's great that I can easily take it with me everywhere, I bring it to many parties. Gameplay is flawless (for NHL 95). There are no player names, but my friends and I are interested in remembering the names of all players. In fact, I've never played Madden on it. I was never a Madden guy. But for NHL 95 it was worth it!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are problems

NHL is the best game!

NHL 95 is amazing. The game is a little different from the original and has no player names, but it's AWESOME! The game is actually like a combination of NHL 94 and NHL 95. A little faster than 94, slower than 95. It's the best of both worlds in my opinion. Everyone knows that '94 and '95 were the two best years for this franchise. Also, there isn't a default breakaway move that always works like in older games. So you have to score with the 1 timer or you will get lucky with your shot. Andโ€ฆ

  • Ideal for a small home

Great transition to this module, good price

I have a single player game but I would like this version. I just loved those two games on the Sega Genisis. Head to head competition at low cost easy to travel with is a must. Games still move just as fast and playability stays about the same. The graphics are pretty good and reminiscent of what Genesis was like, some details are harder to see. There are also no player names, but that's ok. This is a great combination. I just hope they put together a pack for American Football, my all timeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Overall good, but buyers beware.

I got this last week. I wanted a two player version so my wife and I could "befriend" each other. Overall, I like both games, but the lack of player names in both games, while understandable given the licensing, is unfortunate. While I know most of the top NHL players and ALL the NHL 95 flyers and at least all the Madden 95 cowboys, I don't know enough - it's still fun to spend a half hour or so before bed. The controllers, which mostly stay true to the original clunky Genesis models, feel dull

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
