The power is just right for gluing.

Perfect for gluing, performance just right. They open up enough for most light woods. Joiners need a lot of clamps, and buying enough fancy ones will cost you a fortune. Thus, they meet the need. 1 star deduction because the cheek pads slip off too easily. A little "Shoe Goo" (like Goop's glue) held them together, and I think forever. Highly recommended for the price.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Crumpled

Very strong; Rubber tips slip off

They clamp very tightly, good enough for my application (holding 2 items, one on wheels, clamping their edges). The only thing that confuses me is that the rubber tips tilt if you're not careful. And I don't like fiddling around to put them back on, although it's pretty easy because I'm afraid of getting my finger caught in those sturdy clips.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Replacement available

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not safe

Others have also commented on this but I am not as forgiving as they are of this defect. Important covers are the ones on the jaws of the clamp as they protect the bare metal of the clamp from what you are clamping. They can also be important to ensure a good ride over a trapped object. A little bit of the right glue will hold the covers in place, but the manufacturer needs to be smart enough to spot and fix this flaw.

Pros
  • Hard grip
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Bores 2.75 " to outer edges, strong tension, overall good clips

When fully open, bore is 2.75" to outer edges of valve. Trim a little less than 1/4 inch for the inside edges. When closed, the internal clearance increases to just under 1.5 inches, which is nice. The clamp tension is strong enough for my needs. Rubber tips and clamp handles slip off very easily. They seem to stay in place but I wish they were more securely attached. I use some glue to help with this. If it matters to you, they are made in China.

Pros
  • 4-pack
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

good clips, bad tips and PVC grips

The clip function works as intended. Cons #1: PVC tips and grips. The PVC is black, very soft and not firmly attached to the clip. When the clamp is on, the PVC tips seem to stick to anything that is clamped, both bare and painted wood. While working on a home project I attached an Alex Flex decal to my bead board, positioned it and grabbed the new clips to hold them while I got out my nail gun. After nailing, I left the staples in place for about 25-30 minutes to allow the Alex Flex to set. Iโ€ฆ
