Great looking spring. I made an ash rake for my grill pit. It was used about 18" from the rake. It does the job and lies closely to the steel rod.

This spring I bought smoker's door handles. These grips will not get hot even when a pole is passed through. The nickel plating adds class and looks, and the plate is matte black. I recommend you handles for all grilling needs.

Excellent quality handles! They look great and add a touch of class to my BBQ grill. I was a little worried they would get hot but last night my grill went to 600 degrees and the handle stayed cool and not even warm. I purposely welded my handle assembly with a stainless steel rod that goes through the handle and pieces of rebar that attach it to the grill lid. Overall a great pen!
