SPS39 Drive Spark Plug Socket 9 Review

Plastic insert securely holds spark plug when removed. However, when fitting a new plug into a deep well motor, the coupling was so severe that the 3/8 extension came out of the socket and the socket remained in the well. I had to improvise to pull out the outlet. Otherwise it worked fine.

Didn't realize that after a few uses the rubber insert in the socket would lose its ability to hold the spark plug, as some other reviewers have noted. I was wrong. About 3 or 4 spark plugs in my spark plug replacement stopped pulling the plugs out of the deep hole they were in, making this socket as useful as any other deep 9/16 socket I've had. Don't waste money.

Rubber insert holds very well. So good that my 3/8" extension fell out of its socket when I tightened the first plug. On the next try, I gently pulled the socket out of the plug and it separated perfectly. I'm kinda glad I didn't have a 20 -dollar iridium plug has to break and drop from a looser insert so I don't mind it fitting properly The hex end and knurling might be useful to someone else but as the socket is so short and my plugs are so deeply recessed , I have not used these functions…
