So cool it's almost boring as my first EDC.

I've needed a pocket knife for many years but for some reason I never got hold of it. As I have large hands I wanted something large enough to be comfortable but small enough to be lightweight and discreet in my pocket. I don't care about looks or anything other than practical features, and I forgive flaws in products if they allow me to use them well for their intended purpose. At the same time, my knife has absolutely no flaws. Opens and breaks boxes like a master and sharpens easily…

Superb blade, thoughtful product and great knife EDC

This is a phenomenal knife. I received it as an EDC (everyday carry) knife and it is perfect for that purpose. Not a day goes by that I don't use this knife to cut, slice, slice or open something. This is a really handy blade. I bought this knife because Spyderco is known for its size and great design. Spyderco's reputation is earned on this product. I know that when I first bought this knife (many years ago) I had some concerns that Spyderco would outsource its production. I can't comment on…

Great Spyderco quality at an affordable price Made in China!

When I first received the knife I thought it was a little smaller than what I needed for everyday use, but after using the blade for a bit it turned out to be mine previous opinion was wrong and that a slightly smaller and The much more flexible blade will not only be able to handle the tasks that one has to face every day, but even outperform many of them for which I have previously used a larger blade. It comes out very sharp, although I prefer a mirrored edge, so I resharpened it, which was…

I thought this was a great knife, but too big for me.

I'm not new to Spyderco. I have had several of their knives in the past and am familiar with their quality. My previous EDC was the lightweight Spyderco Manix 2 which I found to be a great knife but too big to carry. The Spyderco Persistence was my next try at finding the right EDC blade, and while it's not perfect, it's certainly a great knife for the price. My favorite method as there are several different techniques you can use with it. My choice of technique is to pluck the blade with my…

First Spyderco knife - my new EDC

I have all kinds of Kershaw, S&W, SOG and ZT knives. This is my first Spyderco and I'm a fan! While I've always admired the Spyderco brand and the quality of the steel, I've never owned one because of the price. But I was looking for a new EDC. My previous EDC was the Kershaw Scallion, which I liked but was too small for my day-to-day tasks. So small that I recently lost it. So began my search for my next EDC. I was really looking forward to another Kershaw as I love their variety, value and…

Tenacity and Endurance: Why Not Both!

Wow. I grew up in the knife making community in the 90's and have owned many pocket knives under $250 over the years. For the last 10 years I've stayed with Kershaw and Benchmade mostly and haven't bought Spyderco in at least 15 years and I have to say I'm very glad I did. This rating applies to both Tenacious and Persistence. Both knives benefit from good stainless steel blades and inserts, G-10 handles (which used to be standard on top knives) with good grip, great thumb mobility and 4…
