Type of review

Due to lack of online description this was not the part I needed. Visually like my fountain, but not suitable for my type of fountain. However, the (unopened) return was painless and the return was prompt so I have no complaints. However, the seller should clarify that this only applies to two stage above ground tanks and NOT a single stage submersible pump and bladder tank like mine.

Works great but advice on leverage.

Works as intended. My newly installed gauge was 39/56, so I think that's pretty close. Obviously one of them is a little off, I bet the pressure gauge. One thing I want to say about the low pressure switch. If it doesn't start because the pressure is below 30, it tells you to hold the switch up. What you really need to do is hold the switch halfway between up and down. If it flips over in either direction before reaching 30psi, it will shut down. It took me a while to figure this out as I…

I've done it myself! power for a woman! Lots of money saved.

Installed by myself by photographing the wires on the existing switch. It took less than 30 minutes and I have never touched a well pump in my life. Note. Always turn off the power and check the circuit before messing with the pump. You can learn how to do this in a YouTube video posted by RC Wurst, a Midwest supplier of well pump parts. The cost is $25! I saved $500 on a visit (their offer) from these jerks at the local repair company. When I was done and got the power and pump on and pumping,

Water pressure switch works great as expected

This switch worked great. I used the switch to replace a square D switch that failed after about six years. The original switch was 50/30 psi, which was fine, but adjusting that switch to 60/40 psi gave us a nice increase in water pressure in the shower heads. I noticed that the faulty switch that was replaced was installed upside down, so I suspect this may have contributed to its premature failure. However, this switch is only guaranteed for 18 months, so I'm not sure what the life expectancy

It can protect your expensive pump

In my opinion this is one of the best pressure switches you can or should install to protect your pump, especially if you have a water well. A good quality water pump can be expensive (I've paid over $400 for it) and can easily fail if the water level in your well is low or if the pipe has a leak. I know how it happened to me some time ago. What sets this pressure switch apart from most is that it includes an auto shut off feature that can protect your pump when the water pressure falls below…

Factory Set

Just wanted to let others know that many of these pressure gauges do not read 4 or 5psi. So I checked my pressure with a high-end digital tire pressure gauge on the tank shredder's valve. The pressure switch was factory off only 1 psi or less. And actually even at 4 or 5 psi it usually doesn't make much of a difference, but in my case I have a constant pressure valve that regulates 62 psi so I was more interested in knowing the true pressure. So I just adjusted the 40/70 switch to cover the…

Pros
  • Square Water Pump Pressure Switch for controlling electric powered water pumps
Cons
  • Damaged

Exactly as shown. put it on myself, forgot to turn off the power, but got a free perm from the deal, so kinda win, win. The arch was like a thunderstorm so we got some complimentary water too. The manual control lever is a nuisance when the pressure in your system drops. However, if your fountain can dry up, this is a good feature. I found that I could extend this lever and it would act on the piping before shutting off, so I'm blushing it for now. arrived beautiful from 40 to 60. I was very…

Great product but be careful when first starting up

This is a replacement for an almost identical 40 year old switch with no low pressure shut off function. I didn't think it was necessary, but I decided to do it anyway. After installing it I turned it on, a process that requires you to pull the low pressure lever until the pump builds up enough pressure to stay on, in this case around 40psi. To my great dismay, there was a loud bang and sparks flew into the lid, triggering the switch. Although I checked the wiring three times, I kept checking…
