Uncompressed cable housings must be used.

This is the only option if you have a 9 speed setup and require a rotating derailleur. doesn't work well, the instructions say to use uncompressed cable sleeves. so im waiting for some cables and jagwire shrouds, i hope this will improve shifting.

No Complaints: Cycling

I replaced my Ultegra bars and shifters on my touring bike as I rarely use gear reductions. The bike has a Shimano XT rear derailleur and I needed something compatible. these works. They feel a bit crappy but work for about 2 months. With the new flat bars and these shifters, I'm hoping for many nice kilometers when the weather changes.

Great if you don't reuse the cables

Uses this on my tandem. Since the cables that came with the kit were short, I had to reuse existing cables. However, due to the way the cable is routed inside the derailleur, there is a high risk of wear when using already cut cables. Not having any spare parts, I had to pull out a few strands and practically disassemble the switch to insert the wire. But when it works, it works.

Just make sure you don't have any compatibility issues

I bought these to get my 1x9 road bike shifting the way I wanted - a continuous range of gearing from one controller. All numbers worked well - the number of teeth on my cassette cogs gave the same range as the previous 2x7 setup. Even after converting the friction shifters to clicky shifters and adjusting the cable stops correctly, it still didn't shift properly. Turns out the awful SRAM isn't compatible with Shimano. Shimano cassette plus Shimano rear derailleur plus SRAM rear derailleurโ€ฆ
