Works as it should.: Parts and components

I bought two 11-32 8 speed freewheels to replace 14-32 freewheels on 2 e-bikes. They were easy to install and I didn't have to adjust the switch. So far I've driven over 200 km without any problems. The shifting comfort corresponds approximately to that of the original freewheel.

The quality is more than satisfactory

Found the right cassette for my bike. Replaced after 5600 miles and 9 years and 3 weeks. I assume the original parts were still good. Update 07/30/19 --- After further consideration I am changing the rating to 5 stars. Given how long the original SRAM lasted, I give it five stars.

Pretty cheap, light weight, better than the Shimano options

Shimano has largely abandoned the old market, but fortunately SRAM and a few other companies are still making quality replacements. This is one of them. Decent lightweight cassette. You won't trade your XT/XTR cassette tit for t and gram for gram, but it's good enough for most of us who still ride 20+ bikes. In fact, it's better than anything Shimano has to offer. No complaints, I'm at home, they've been doing it for a few years.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Great product from SRAM, no problem.

If you're worried about whether to buy a SRAM, Shimano or SunRace cassette, worry not. This is excellently processed, as is Shimano. Buy for the price, this one was $8 cheaper than a comparable Shimano at the time I bought it. If Shimano were cheaper I'd say the same thing: it shifts very crisply (with a great derailleur and new chain), is well made and packaged and is running great after 500 miles. I trust them both and let's be honest this is an 8 speed cassette that's hard to screw up!

Fixed chain jump issue

Got a new chain. When I put it on it started skipping cogs on the old cassette. No wonder. So I ordered a new cassette. Installed easily and now shifts perfectly without skipping teeth. New cassette + new chain + new crank = almost new bike for 1/10 the price of a new bike. You will need a cassette removal tool and a chain whip will help but is not required to remove and install either of these. Every bike owner should have one of these tools. It pays off many times over if you can avoid goingโ€ฆ

Amazing Combination 2 for Custom Cassette

I see so many people get in the wrong gear or crank up the lowest gears their new bike had and then go down the other half of the hill. I'm 265lbs now and the combo of 2 of these cassettes in 13, 15, 17, 18, 21, 24, 28, 30 put me on the moon on my last ride (thanks in part to my triple ring grip). The big hills can take a long time at a 1:1 ratio, but I get through it on my bike. In case you're wondering, the difference between 26 and 30 in terms of lift is huge. If you think you need it, youโ€ฆ

Perfect fit and functionality

Working on an old bike is fun and you get just the right part for the job. This SRAM cassette is one of those big moments. I have a Salsa La Cruz for which I bought a pair of Bontrage Race Lite wheels at the Santa Cruz flea market for a very reasonable price. However, the rear wheel came without a cassette. The La Cruz was tuned to a Shimano 8-speed system, as was the Bontrager wheel. When I looked for a cassette I found that most were 9 or 10 speed. After much thought and guesswork, I orderedโ€ฆ
