The shifting is great, they are on 1x11 with 42 teeth.

Shifting is great they are on 1x11 with 42T sprocket and 11-36 cassette. The cartridge is very tightly packed, so they need to hold their position very well. They coped with the task without any problems, look great, are very comfortable and easy to set up.

Pros
  • Double tapped
Cons
  • Slightly snapped

No difference on the road

Rival 11s vs Red 10s: On the road they are very, very similar. Red is louder, Rival spins more, especially on the first click. Underneath the rubber, the Rival mechanism is a little more open, so it can be more prone to dirt. The graphics are overkill for my taste.

Pros
  • Ergo Fit
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Strong lever and shifter attached to a weak body

I bought these primarily for gravel bike touring. I thoroughly enjoyed them until I took one look at the wood and the derailleur housing immediately shattered leaving me at a single speed with front brakes only. The aluminum brake lever and shift paddle as well as the aluminum innards survived without a single scratch. But the cheap plastic case that everything rests on just exploded. It doesn't look like this spare part is available, making them disposable. I think that's why you rarely see…

Pros
  • Zero loss
Cons
  • Useless features
