📻 Sirius Starmate 8 Dock-and-Play Satellite Radio with Vehicle Kit (DISCONTINUED) — SST8V1 by Manufacturer Review

My husband had another Sirius receiver which he has changed at least 8 times because of the screen. He finally gave up and we tried this one. So far so good, but only for a few months. FYI, no remote control is included, but you can purchase one. I went to another website to buy it but some of them are listed here in Revain.

I bought it for my husband when he is away. Died completely within 3 months. It worked great at first, but now it's broken. Called Sirius who will replace the unit under warranty but refuses to pay for shipping to return the FUBR unit. A credit card is also required to guarantee the return of the old device. Not happy with Sirius but still love Amazon.

I bought this radio specifically to use the SiriusXM Al a Cart package. The product description states that it is the SST8V1 model. I received the model SST8V1B. I couldn't select an Al a Cart package online and of course I put off calling SiriusXM until today. SiriusXM informs me that this model that I received cannot receive the Al a Cart package. I have had Sirius Radio for a little over 6 years. My first radio was the Sportster Replay. Although the light went out within the first 2 years and some buttons stopped working after about 3 years, it worked well for most of those 6 years. It had great features. I bought a Starmate 8 a few months ago and I'm pleasantly surprised. It works well and does what it's supposed to. For background purposes I started with the Starmate 2 and then had terrible experiences with several other Starmate receivers. My take on Sirius is that I love their product but hate their hardware.
