This is the best sharpener I have used for both 2mm and 3.15mm leads. It sharpens to a nice point, just like my previous Staedtler (pictured with Alvin) which I think is now dated. I forgot when I got it but it has stopped sharpening and sadly it's time to get a new one. I have an Alvin sharpener which is great but messy and impractical to use on the go but sharpened great and was a great replacement until I found the Staedtler sharpener. Very happy!

Good quality sharpener with some details: The cap prevents shavings from falling out but they can come out through the holes. The writing on the cap obscures the view of the handpiece. which is important because you have to stop by hand - It doesn't leave the tip as sharp as the Staedtler 502, but it has 2 hole sizes for different hooklengths - A bit pricey considering options like Kum or Staedtler. 502.
