I have one of these types for mapping at work and one for general purposes at home. They are made of stainless steel and are therefore very durable. They pick up micro-scratches easily, but the markings are still clear and easy to read. But boy, those edges are sharp. Inaccuracies. Both rulers that I received as a pair had the ends torn off at both ends. One is almost 1/64 inch. This is very bad for the Machinist/Engineer line. The markings also didn't look like they would hold until the engraving was deep compared to other 6-inch rulers from other manufacturers. I have used in the past.
