I needed a new strainer and noticed that reviews of many sold at Revain showed handle welds chipping or rusting or both. I chose this one because the handles are riveted and I haven't seen any rusting complaints. I've used this strainer several times and it's holding up great. It's not super heavy but that wasn't one of my requirements, I would buy it again!

So disappointed the size and leg of the colander was perfect for draining pasta but after a few months of use the top rim has worn off showing it is actually black plastic underneath the metallic paintwork. Finished. It's such a dishonest practice. I am very disappointed in the false advertising that the strainer is stainless steel.

At first it seemed to be a well made, robust colander. It's a good size and the legs are well raised. Unfortunately, the company couldn't help but skimp on the metal and handles, leaving it completely unusable. When you look at it, you might think that the handles are metal but covered in plastic for a more comfortable grip, but you are wrong! I couldn't find anything wrong with this colander. I originally bought it to clean gravel from the aquarium. The micro holes were just the right size to keep the gravel from spurting out. The handles made it easy to hold. Now that I have it, I expect to order another one for a meal. I like the size as it's big enough to easily catch pasta when it's poured from a pot of boiling water. Because the handles are heat-resistant, you can grab a colander immediately after putting hot things in it. And…
