It is best to remove the canister to latch it

This part seems to work on my flex-fuel 2010 Ford Escape. Remove the canister completely, then press down to lock it, then reinsert the canister.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Not sure

The new valve works as it should but then I found the old one worked too and my trouble code was associated with corrosion of the wiring near the vent valve (under the car near the carbon tank). Wiring repaired and with new bleed valve everything works fine.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I will add later

Will not fit 2009 F-150 5.4L V8

This is the wrong part for my truck. According to the car's data match, this part should have fitted, but it doesn't actually fit anywhere on the 2009 F-150 5.4 liter V8 engine. The actual FoMoCo part is 9U5A-9G866-AA which corresponds to the Dorman 30322-05637648 or Duralast PV636 canister purge valve.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Can't remember

Great if that's exactly what you need.

This was an identical product which could have been purchased elsewhere for significantly more money. Be careful if you have a Ford Escape though as there are two bleeder valves and I bought one to install the rear reservoir instead of the one that goes under the hood. It's a completely different structure.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Nothing here
