🚗 Enhanced Motor Performance: AC505 Idle Air Control Valve by Standard Motor Products Review

Did not fit my Ford Expedition 4.6L 2003 In the middle of the year there was a design change that was not reflected in the description. The installation caused my engine to stall abruptly and almost at idle.

I don't know where they get the parts but I had to buy another one from the local auto zone. While this one got rid of the knock, it got my engine up to around 1800-2400 rpm for about a minute every time I started it. Couldn't find a way to get it back.

Idle didn't work up and down wasn't smooth and stable (worked like that for about 8 or 9 days) Put the old one back and it became smooth but it wheezes and makes noises I believe , he didn't like the aftermarket part.

A week after installation the car started jerking at idle. 2 stars instead of 1 because it will still go up and down. Various attempts to adapt it were unsuccessful. I assumed the fault was mine, but after going to the chief mechanic we found that the valve was sticking and not running smoothly. Bought a better quality replacement and it's been raining like rain ever since. IMO: Don't waste your time or money trying to save money. Go with the good part from the start.

I replaced an OEM part on my F-150 4.6L V8 with this part. The initial stumble on random hot starts is gone, proving the OEM part has failed. However, this part caused the engine to rev over excessively on cold starts, and in the two or so months it was fitted it never got the engine running smoothly or at the correct rpm.
