Heater issue fixed

My fan mysteriously turned off and after a few seconds (about a minute) turned on again. Googled it and found the reason. this product. It's a little tricky to install (it's behind the glove box on my Ford F150) but once installed it worked great and this product was half the price of Ford's OEM product.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Clarity

Served 3 years on Blower Motors

After 3 years I bought another. The original that came with the truck lasted 10 years. I see no reason why these things shouldn't work at all. Perhaps it would be unfair of me to blame one part when there could be another reason for its failure. If this doesn't work my next one will be a genuine Ford part.

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • There are defects

When ordering I specified our 2011 Ford Escape and according to the database this product does not fit our car. I checked other websites and they all listed the same RU440 part number so I took a chance and ordered it anyway. My husband just put it in and said it fits perfectly. Just wanted to stick it in in case other 2011 Ford Escape owners want to order one.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Older model

I gave four stars because the problem may be with the truck and not the .

My 2011 F150 fan had two of the four fan speeds failing, so I installed it behind the glove box with no problems. Worked for about a week then lowered the fan speed to three. Note: This was the second replacement for this part. The first was made by the dealer about a year ago. I gave four stars because the problem may be with the truck and not the parts.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No Automatic

Fixes Issue - Heater

Update: This thing lasted two months and blew again. One piece. I changed the rating to one star because I couldn't have zero stars. Instead, make sure you order Motorcraft. Ford takes advantage of this. The fan on my 2011 Ford F150 stopped working except at top speed. So basically the fan is either off or running at full speed. This resistor solved that problem. It's only been a month, but it's still working. It's nice to have those intermediate speeds again.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Frequency

Saving Money on Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning

I didn't like a thing, and best of all, it saved me a few hundred dollars by doing the R&R myself. Thanks for the instructions on YouTube. The truck is 15 years old and the heater/AC switch resistor has failed leaving me on either high or low fan speed. There are three different switches depending on the car model, and my research helped me choose the right part. Aside from getting the right part it was great value and the price was very reasonable and the supplier delivered the part on time.

Pros
  • Heater
Cons
  • Some Little Things

AC Fan Resistor Best for Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning

I bought this because my #2 position on my AC has failed but the #3 and #4 positions still worked, my #2 position 1 was out when I bought the truck, so it wasn't a big deal at the time. The product came out MUCH earlier and once installed earned both 1st and 2nd place! Took about 5 minutes to install, it's basically 2 screws and then disconnect, put in a new resistor, reconnect and put 2 screws back in. Your YouTube tutorials on this too. This is for my 2010 Ford F150 4.6 2V, I highly recommend

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Protection

Fixed speed 3 but moved problem to speed 2

I had speed 1, 2 and 4 in my 2006 Ford F150. Here in Maine I need level 3 most winter days so I bought this product to fix this known issue. After replacing the fan motor resistor with this new product, I returned speed 3, but now speed 2 is the same as the first. So now I have speeds one, three and four instead of 1, 2 and 4. I don't think the problem is with the fan motor or fan switch in the truck so I can only assume that this product was defective. With. I could be wrong but that is my…

2010 Ford Escape - Easy install with a few hand tools

Installed on a 2010 Ford Escape when the fan stopped running on speed 1 and speed 2 but was still running on speed 3 and 4. The installation was the wind. Push on the sides of the glove box to fold it in, remove the exposed wiring harness connector from the top of the resistor, use an 8mm socket to remove the two screws holding the old resistor in place, replace these and reverse the process. To install. It took less than 20 minutes from start to finish. The fan will now run at speeds 1, 2, 3…
