Ok, the chain looks longer in the picture than it really is! At the same time, this adapter is installed quickly, and the chain is strong and reliable. I put my two in the garage. They work great. Having extra outlets comes in handy when I need to provide a little extra power.

Works great but only for vertical installation (bulb pointing down). Due to the angle at which the cable exits the device, when installed horizontally it is difficult to pull on the cable and you could end up breaking the cable or damaging something. Do not connect high power electronics unless you intend to start a fire. I connected my motorcycle battery charger to it. I sometimes charge my phone with it too.

UPDATE: The product has lasted approximately 1.5 years of daily use in a closet. Good enough for the cost IMO. I have had the product for 3 months. I used it as a cheap and easy replacement for a real lamp with a broken cord/switch. Instead of replacing the whole bulb I just added this socket adapter.
