Fell apart in a few months!

I bought two of these belts for the steel mill. They are not used daily, only when more length is needed. Both ends fell off and the tape was pulled back in, but the tapes still look new. It's too late to return them, but there's still time to warn others about the problem. Now I have two nice new boxes of cassettes in my office that cannot be used. I will switch to another brand for future purchases.

Works well. I used to have another Stanley that was 40 feet long, heavier and more expensive. They are both good products, I'm a roofing surveyor so I use it a lot. The first lasted about six months of heavy use before the tape ripped around the edge, so I bought this one to try. In future updates I'll let you know if this is a good inversion. So far it does its job, its light weight, the only thing that lags behind is the metal finish which feels slippery when your hands are sweaty. But what…

It does the job - tape measure

It's just a tape measure. No frills. It does exactly what I need. It measures as accurately as any tape in the human hand. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we use several dozen of these in our factory and they aren't as strong as they used to be. Or as I remember them. Ligaments can tear and tear. I just wish they built them a little tighter, but other than that they work fine. If you're doing light jobs like housework, or even framing and roofing a house, this will do, but in our…
