Hard Rubber Mallet

This is a great rubber mallet at a great price. Very solid in every way, there are only 2 of these; Handle and part of a rubber mallet. Heavy, good balance; I'm not sure what $60 can do that this $6 can't. I think I saw a review that said the plastic is coated and feels cheap? But I saw it when I closed the tab, so maybe not? Because it doesn't make sense. No plastic coating, no cheapness.

Pros
  • Rubber head helps minimize scratches and surface damage
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

It's good to have a backup.

We had one of these in the house that we used so often that it kept getting lost. We now have one in the trash can downstairs and one in the toolbox upstairs. I'll probably get one for the garden shed as well. I have found that I use it a lot more than a regular hammer. It exerts enough force without causing such damage. Plus I now have one on hand in case my husband steps out of line ;)

  • High Quality New!!!!!
Cons
  • So far, so good

Nice Home Hammer: Hammers

The rubber mallet is a rubber mallet. In other words, there's not much to look forward to. It is what it is. And that's a rubber mallet. It has a real wooden handle and a real rubber tip (I'm sure there are more technical terms). This is the size for most home projects, like chipping off something metallic that you don't want a dent. or scratch. Chromed things, for example. Even wooden objects like furniture need a few light taps. I am happy.

Pros
  • The rubber head helps minimize scratches and surface damage
Cons
  • Minor problems

good banger anchors my soccer goal twice a week.

I bought this to carry in my football bag to drive in the U-bolt I use to secure the goal. It's a good weight for such a small job, easy to swing but strong enough to quickly drive a small U-bolt into the ground. I also like the feel of it in my hand. One minor complaint: A small piece of black rubber came loose about the second time I used it, leaving a small scratch on the hammer. It still works just as well, but I was surprised it cut so quickly.

Does what it's supposed to do

The rubber mallet is one of my favorite tools because it serves two purposes. 1) general housework that requires a rubber mallet. 2) In the kitchen, I use a hammer to evenly pound things like chicken breasts, or to lightly mash things like toasted bread or crack open nut shells. I even managed to level the bottom of a huge used aluminum kitchen kettle that was so swollen it couldn't stand flat on the stove. Now it sits perfectly on the stove. I always trust Stanley's tools. They are always well

My favorite handheld!

This Stanley rubber mallet has quickly become one of my favorite tools. (I paid about $5 for this as an "add-on".) It's a good weight, neither too heavy nor too light. The wooden handle is durable and has a smooth finish to prevent chipping. The rubber head and handle appear to be well attached so I expect it will last for many years. The lack of catchy logos makes it look simple and stylish. The sticker attached to the handle wasn't that easy to remove, but that's the only flaw I found. I've…
