Doesn't really help, use small bottles and fill them up instead

Sounds like a good idea, but it's actually easier to buy small stan bottles, fill them up, and use them to squirt the sealant through the valve. The screw system is well made, but it just doesn't work. It's slow and messy because you have sealant in the syringe when you take it out and you have to unscrew it from the valve. So yes, it sounds great, but it's actually a waste of money.

High quality sealant from Stans

Excellent quality sealant. Stans is a great company that makes high quality products. My Bike Shop and Cycling Club do not allow anyone to go on bike tours unless you have this product in your tires and even in your tubes. They say that if they get an apartment during the trip, they just don't have time to wait for people to fix their apartments. Guess I don't blame them? --Very happy with this purchase. Thanks very much!

expensive cheap necessary

nothing more than an expensive syringe with tube and cap. I think the sticker on the syringe was probably the most expensive part. The tube was bent and twisted from the way it was packaged, and the tube even broke off once when I put Stans in one of my tires. I think I could get over the fact that it's made out of cheap materials if the price was only $3-$5. I compare it to the quality of a dollar store. Although I love Stan's seal :-)

A cleaner way to apply sealant to a tire

This injector allows you to pour sealant into a tubeless tire much more accurately and cleanly. If I had spent more time reading the instructions I would have realized beforehand that it makes a lot more sense to dip the end of the hose into a bottle of sealant and suck the sealant into the injector than trying to use the plunger to fill in REMOVED. When I tried to fill it it just hit the tire and I couldn't measure how much I filled. I'll know better next time.

  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Slightly torn

What happened to the brass valve?

Disappointed that Stan lowered the price and replaced the brass fitting with a cheap plastic fitting that would most likely wear out in no time. I've owned many of these over the years and this is the first I've gotten with a plastic fitting. This will probably be my last from Stans and I'll find someone else who sells copper. The syringes don't seem to last that long but I usually just keep changing them and the valves last for years. This will probably wear out before the syringe.

and useless. Installing a brass adapter wasn't difficult.

I bought this to replace my (lost) reliable stan injector with brass adapter that I bought years ago. Despite the description "brass double-threaded adapter fits both Presta and Schrader valves", the adapter is actually plastic. and useless. The brass adapter was easy to attach and was a bit messy. The plastic one is barely screwed onto the valve and trying to remove it leaks the sealant everywhere. Bring back the copper! Until then, I will go back to using small two-ounce bottles.

It doesn't work with Presta valves.

If you have Presta valves, look elsewhere. All 5 star ratings are for the previous brass adapter version of this product. The latest version of this product comes with a plastic adapter that is poorly molded and CANNOT ATTACH TO THE PRESTA VALVE. After removing the core, I tried threading the adapter onto my mountain bike's Presta stems. The adapter just doesn't fit making this product unusable. I was going to return mine and exchange for another injector but apparently the seller doesn'tโ€ฆ

Works as expected in fuel system

Works great and as expected. The only issue I really have is that the tube has a permanent crease next to a hard plastic nozzle that restricts flow until you squeeze it with your fingers to expand it - no big deal, just a mention. Second, if you push the plunger too hard, you risk the hose detaching from the black spiked nozzle and splattering sealant everywhere. After this happened the first time I just put a zip tie over that area - no more issues except I can no longer remove this part forโ€ฆ

The best $10 I've spent in a long time

, I've been running tubeless tires since 2008 and this sealant injector makes it so much easier. I'm usually afraid of breaking the bead on the tire to add new or extra Stan tires, but that's a thing of the past now. When I first used an injector, I inflated both tires on my Fargo in no more than ten minutes. The time savings alone was worth the price of the injector. If you think carefully about what you're doing, there will be little to no clutter. The whole stan goes in the hoops right where
