but no more than three miles

This bag is suitable for walking a few kilometers but not for hiking more than five kilometers. I was very disappointed with the harness system and the fact that everything in the bag is pushed forward towards your dog's head as he naturally walks head down and sniffs the trail 90% of the time. Don't buy this bag if you and your dog walk at night and travel more than 6 miles a day, save your money and buy a better bag.

Great backpack dog backpack

This dog backpack has been on the road for almost 3 weeks now. It was great all the time. In rain, snow, 100 degree heat, it has proven to be very good. In the event of rain/snow, you must pack items such as groceries in a waterproof package as the package itself is not waterproof. It's also possible for the dog to throw off the backpack when looking downhill, so for night hikes I recommend putting a small flashlight on the backpack as it makes it easier to locate if you suddenly notice your…

I Want To Love: Tote Bags & Travel Items

This goes well with my two dogs - I have a Pit Bull Boxer and a Great Dane Australian Shepherd mix. The adjustable straps work well, the saddlebag is roomy and sits comfortably on the dog's back. However, the waist strap has no way to remove the extra strap. And unfortunately the loop on the back for the leash tore when my dog pulled hard. So I will use it. And replace the metal ring. And cut off the extra strap. The rest of the features are nice, the padding is super nice. and I will continue…

great little backpack

I have a collie dog that loves to go hiking with us. I've been looking for one of these backpacks (saddlebags, actually) for months and couldn't find one for under $60-$80 for a large dog! I'm so happy with it. Each bag will probably fit 4 bottles of water just to give you an idea of the size. The strap that runs under his belly is adjustable, which is great because he's still growing. The chest strap is also adjustable. The straps on the top are adjustable to make each side higher or lower…

Get a job, dog! Best in backpacks

It worked like a dream. We've read that a backpack filled with bottled water is a great way to calm your dog down. We bought it for our German Shepherd, Boxer and Pitta when he was about 6 months old. Back then, if we weren't walking him 5-6 miles a day, he wasn't sagging! So we bought this and filled it with jars of diced tomatoes (that's what was on the shelf). Two cans per side for our 50 pound pup plus a 3.5 to 4 mile walk was the antidote we needed for his hyperactivity. The bag came off…

Good but not great at Carriers & Travel Products

Overall this backpack is good. My dog accepted it immediately. It suited him well. Charlie is a very strong Border Collie weighing 75 pounds. I put two water bottles (1.2 pounds each) on each side and it went really well. Until we saw another dog. Then he pulled so hard that the chest strap just ripped. Balanced enough to keep the backpack in place until we got home, he tied the leash to his collar. Since I don't have $90 to invest in a better one and it will likely find a replacement, I'll fix

Great product fits backpacks

At first I was hesitant to buy this backpack after reading some negative comments about it. However, after almost 9 months of use, I can honestly say this is an amazing product. It fit my boxer's wide chest and narrow stomach with no problems. I just tucked in the extra straps. We used it almost every day for her outings with no noticeable wear. This slows her down so she doesn't pull on the leash (much better for her neck) and provides the extra movement she needs to drain her energy. Highly…
