Stant 10079 Oil Filler Cap Review

looks functional. I hope the seal is of decent quality. I bought it as a replacement because it's a lot cheaper than just buying a seal.

While this cap seals great and hasn't seemed to leak like my last oil cap so far, it doesn't fit my 2001 VW Passat v6, as Revain said. I had to use metal scissors and trim the edge of the lid to make it fit. But once I sealed it very well.

Just doesn't fit. Will not fit my 2003 Audi A4 Quattro 3.0. Maybe I'm doing something wrong because Stant and Summit Auto say it fits my car. It might work if the locking spring was taken out. Tried to contact Stunt but to no avail. Very disappointed.

As Revane predicted, it fits my 1980 MBenz 240D engine. BTW, my old cap came loose after 40 years of use, so maybe I didn't tighten it tight enough. I discovered this very early on, so the oily mess was easy to clean up. Egad could be a lot worse. PS The fuel cap is also included in the engine oil cap position.

I bought this item thinking it would fit a 1999 Audi A6 2.8. Not this case. In fact, another cover that Revane says doesn't fit this car actually fits. Revain needs to work on properly cataloging their wares as I've found that this applies to other items they sell as well. It is very difficult to return an item, do extensive research and purchase the right product that Revain claims does not fit.
