OK but seal not included

Newly installed, durability unknown, correct physical size. Must be sold with a gasket specifically required and designed for this thermostat.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Works great in my 1996 Toyota 4Runner

1996 Toyota 4Runner. Precisely assembled. There's no oscillating valve (that's Toyota's OEM design), but it's not required anyway. Reduced the temperature from 209 to an average of 185. Very satisfied.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

1998 Toyota 4runner

When installing this thermostat on your 5vz-fe 3.4, be sure to drill a 1/8" hole in the thermostat to allow air to flow through. This helps with burping the system, and there is a fitting in the standard thermostat for this purpose.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Zero

Recommended for hotter climates

Highly recommended for anyone with a Toyota 5vz engine living in hotter climates (SC) like me. I was having ping issues as well as a few other things and after flushing my system very thoroughly I decided to use this thermostat. I've been monitoring the temperature and at 35-40 degrees the coolant temp fluctuates around 185. The great thing is that this applies to 70 degree weather, sometimes up to 190 but then drops again. I expect temperatures to rise to around 195 on hot days, but I think…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Negative impression
