It works and I did it!

Great item, slightly different from the original. It's a shame that workshops take so much. Great for Revain selling this. I'm a woman and I don't usually work with cars. If you need this part and don't have $420 to pay for shipping, try it for yourself. YouTube helped a lot. The code goes out, the car warms up well and warms up again!

no more CEL: replacement parts

for my mazda 3 for CEL P0128 coolant temperature below control temperature showed up 3 times even after i cleaned it. The installation is not difficult, there is a video on YouTube that explains everything very well! Took just over an hour (although I hadn't drained the coolant) I drove it about 400 miles after installing it, still no use. I wish I had done more research because I could very well just buy a thermostat and use an OEM case, but this case is different from the OEM.

Pros
  • decent performance
Cons
  • i don't remember but there was something

Great product on spares

Having written this review after reading some (-) reviews about the quality or lack of an air release valve, both of which are wrong, this thermostat is one of the best brands on the market today . All manufacturer specs for vehicle applications are there, excellent quality, it comes with an air release valve, it's well made and fits like a glove. Recommend buying this product to anyone who loves car maintenance. Buy with confidence that you are getting a great thermostat.

My Mazda3 slow coolant leak has been fixed!

Installed as a replacement on a 2004 Mazda 3 to fix a slow coolant leak. where I could see some coolant color in the area of this part (which is said to be a common cause of such leaks after years of use). Installation was easy. and 6 weeks. It still works well and there are no signs of further leaks. I can't vouch for its longevity yet, but it seemed solid right out of the box. I checked the bolt torque when installing and hope it lasts for the rest of the car's life!

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

The part works for engine cooling and air conditioning

I got engine code P0126 on my Mazda3 (2006) so after doing some research it was most likely the coolant temp sensor and/or thermostat. Just in case, I replaced both this part and the "Original Mazda Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (L35G-18-840)". The car runs great, the engine light no longer comes on. The packaging is not very professional. just a loose piece that was thrown in a brown box so I was a bit nervous because it was "authentic". But my mechanic didn't have any installation…

Works perfectly! for engine cooling and air conditioning

Obviously this works great. Otherwise, my car may not run and the check engine light stays on. Pretty easy to install - better than a pro mechanic and you can find out how on YouTube. One recommendation: when you take the old thermostat out, it's full of coolant (basically draining your coolant. Well, it has to go somewhere. I put a piece of tinfoil under the thermostat (on top of the alternator) and place a baking sheet under the car to catch the coolant drain. Done, change the coolant, start…

Overheated a few days

This thermostat does not appear to have an air vent like the other thermostats sold here and at Autozone (with plastic pins holding the element in place). BTW the second photo on this Revain listing (showing the dimensions of the thermostat) is of a linked thermostat which is a different model. You see what can be seen in the first picture. When my mechanic replaced this thermostat in a 2006 Mazda3 2.3L, the car started overheating like crazy and the thermostat hose was soft (no fluid) and…
