I bought this card to replace the USB 3.2 r2 card that is already in my computer. I wanted to try this Gen 2x2 card which hypothetically delivers twice the throughput (20Gbps) of an already fast USB 3.2 r2 card (10Gbps). I was a little concerned as I had USB 3.2 cards that were wreaking havoc with the computer and causing instability. I shouldn't have worried. I put the card in the x4 PCIe slot, rebooted and Windows 10 automatically installed the latest drivers. The installed driver is dated…

Great bandwidth if you have a device to use (see details). Recommended

As a writer working on many different computers, I faced a pretty serious dilemma when it came to choosing a platform for my workstation. You see, my work mix has benefited greatly from using machines with AMD AM4 and TR4 processors. The other side of this is that my workflow moves my content from machine to machine. When I used a combination of 1Gbps, 5Gbps, and 10Gbps Ethernet, it was (generally) faster to run multiple 2TB NVMe SSDs in USB 3.1 gen2 - to use housings. Obviously Thunderbolt…

Pros
  • Easy installation

  • There are other interesting options.

Only works with 2.0 connection (seems to be driver issues)

Got this card for Quest 2. The problem is that devices only connect via 2.0 connection no matter what I do. I think I'm getting 5V/3A despite this connection issue as the Quest charges while in use. As I got this for Quest 2, when connected a 3.0 connection is required for full functionality. I tried reinstalling drivers and different drivers together. I've tried different cables that work with other 3.0 slots. I tried this with 2 different 3.0 compatible devices. I tried moving the card to a…

Fast and cheap way to speed up

Installed in a 5 year old USB 3.0 only device. Previously, the 1TB external ScanDisk only had read/write speeds of 457/438. Had to connect to C connector on ScanDisk and C>A adapter to connect to computer (there are no C sockets on this unit. After installing this card and connecting to a C>C cable gets it 1683/1722 - yes it does) writes slightly faster than reads in all categories. You can't beat a simple and inexpensive ($50) upgrade to one of our older devices.

Pros
  • . Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
