It wouldn't work for me no matter what I do

I've been using 3 monitors for a few years and it's time to upgrade my desk and monitors. I didn't want two displayports connected to my dock and one connected to VGA. So I decided to give it a try and connect 2 monitors to an MST hub via 1 displayport. Whatever I tried (switching from auto to DP connection on monitors) and calling StarTech support. Nothing worked. Although they confirmed that my docking station, graphics card, and laptop would support my configuration, we were unable to get…

Works great - get to know your hardware first

I don't know what some of the negative reviews mean but they made me skeptical about buying. Those who say "3 monitors are not supported" will only support what your graphics card supports. Of course, if your graphics card supports 2 displays at most, you cannot use it for 3 displays. Won't turn off, won't turn off etc and looks like it should. Power 3 monitors over HDMI as we speak. It's a bit pricey but seems well made. It looks like cheap plastic in the pictures, but it actually looks more…

Works as I expected.

After reading some of the other reviews I was very cautious about the purchase. I just bought 4 Dell monitors with display ports and a new Dell I7 PC. I set everything up about 3 weeks ago, so far everything is working great. Perhaps some of the other reviewers are, shall we say, "technically failing". I'm fairly tech savvy, but it was a breeze (basically plug and play) to hook up the monitors and display the images on my screens. A bit of tweaking in Windows and setting up the Dell Display…

Doesn't work properly

This is a replacement for the much more expensive Matrox triple display. It works a little oddly, but after some tweaking it works fine... Decent value at half the price of Matrox. Which just stopped working after a few years, so can't complain. In addition to my review, I've found this device to go haywire at times, especially if your system is set to turn off monitors after a period of time... I'm not confused and a full reboot is usually required to recover the screens correct, other than…

Pros
  • Computer cable adapter
Cons
  • New competitors appear

Initially this DisplayPort1.2 hub worked fine with my ASUS GL551J laptop (used Mini DisplayPort1.2 connector). It supports DisplayPort 1.2, so monitors can be daisy chained. I used the hub to output video to 2 external monitors (ASUS VP278Q-P 27" monitors) 1) After half a month the device is running at 50 degrees Celsius (it was too hot until I left it on for a few minutes left) 2) DisplayPort1 hub last week 2 stopped working for right monitor but kept outputting video on second monitor 3) For…
