Fiddly computer accessories and peripherals

Doesn't mount all the cards at once on the first try. Once you've assembled them all, it's fast and reliable, but it won't be easy to get started.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Zero

With card readers, it requires a few attempts

I am using this with a MacBook Pro. It takes two or three times to unplug and plug it back in before the slots light up and the computer recognizes the SD cards. I'm not sure if it's the reader or my computer, but it's frustrating. Once the blue lights are ready, the cards will copy well too. There aren't many options for multiple slots and card readers, so I'll keep using them.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Is there anything I can add?

5Gbps is SLOW! Garbage StarTech.

Please note that the transfer speed is USB 2.0. for the TOTAL device 5 gigabits (not gigabytes) per second. This is NOT UHS-ii, this is StarTech. "Fiction". If you want true UHS-ii data rates, you don't need a TB3, just a USB-C 3.2 gen2 and an SD reader that actually supports 10Gbps. eg ProGrade Digitalโ„ข USB 3.2 Gen 2 card reader with two SDโ„ข UHS-II slots, up to 1.25 GB/s (10 Gb/s) from both cards, here at Revain.

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Secret

Might be a concern for computers and accessories

I actually sent mine back to StarTech for replacement as not all slots could be used. You have to figure out what order to put the cards in, and even so I'm not sure I'll ever be able to fully utilize all 6 slots.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Expensive
