Works great as intended

I bought this to connect my HP laptop to the Targus docking station at the other end of my desk. I first tried a 6 foot Cable Matters USB 3.0 cable but it didn't work at all so I returned it. The StarTech cable worked the first time, right out of the box it came in. I am very happy with them.

Works as expected - cables and connections

I bought a used docking station for my laptop and she needed one of these. Arrived quickly, works as expected, all dock/laptop interface features work properly. Only time will tell on durability but the cable appears to be of good quality.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Good quality and short

This cable is ideal for connecting two devices, one of which has a USB3 connector. I bought 1 foot cables because the computer and another device, a shortwave radio, are in close proximity, and the 1 foot cable helps reduce clutter. It appears to be of good quality with solid connections and works as expected.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Great short USB cable

If you need a 30cm USB 3.0 cable, great! I bought a couple of these because I was trying to cut down on the extra cords dangling from my desk. These tiny cables were perfect for that.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Nervous

Premium but maybe too long to signal what I'm doing.

Actually slowed down the transfer rate. I replaced the 6ft cable because it was too short for my desktop setup and the transfer speeds from external SSDs were almost as good as when connected directly to my Macbook Pro. However, this leads to a drastic drop in transfer speeds (I constantly transfer several GB of video files for work). I'm not sure if it's the length of the cable combined with the tasks I'm doing, so it's probably not the cable's fault (however, 10ft is a bit behind the 16ft…

Good value USB 3.0 cable

I have the USB 3.0 cable that came with the USB 3.0 hub, but after setting up my computer saw that the cable was not long enough. Rather than an extension cord I wanted the right length cord and after looking at what was available I bought one of these 10 inch cords. The cable is printed USB 3.0 (which is good) and 28 AWG (power/ground cables could be thicker but still within spec, other cables are good and easily within spec). As can be seen in the pictures, the connectors have blue inner…

Pros
  • USB Type A (M) to USB Type B (M)
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

This solved my problems with USB 3.

I was having problems with USB 3.0 on my desktop computer. I had an inexpensive 3.0 hub with a pigtail attached and a USB 3.0 AA extender. It worked intermittently, but the rest of the time it was buggy: 2.0 devices always worked, but 3.0 devices failed after a few minutes of high-speed data transfer. I used this cable with an Anker 7 port hub. That works great. I now have a solid connection on my desk for USB 3.0 devices and don't have to crawl to the back of my computer to connect them. I…
