Power strip with more than enough sockets (8 sockets)

Occupies 1U in a rack and, depending on the configuration, offers enough connections for most of your network needs. Since the outlets are on the side and most router/modem plugs are now wide, this is ideal for connecting multiple devices side-by-side. It also allows for a cleaner setup as the connectors are on the back instead of the front. The power cord that plugs into the wall is also on the back. I originally tried to mount this in a smaller rack that wasn't as deep as traditional racks…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Legacy model

I am satisfied. Some of the rear outputs are difficult to access when rack mounted. But how often do you need to access it? The cable is long. I'd like to steer it along the inside of the wall to get out of the general purpose mud box and into the next exit. Now he goes through a hole in the wall to an outlet in the guest room. At some point I plan to clean up this wiring. I love these things. Some people complain that they break. I haven't had this problem. I usually lock these things up and…

It works as described

I wrote the rest of this rack review but I think I mentioned the power distributor there as well. It complemented the new setting perfectly. It comes with quite a long cord, but when I'm done my new outlet is only 1 foot away so it's tucked away at the bottom of my rack. It has good LEDs on the front to show the power status. My garage is more of a warehouse and laboratory for my side business. I had two separate Netgear switches sitting on a makeshift shelf with a cheap power strip. I decided…

Equipment failure - most likely due to poor solder joints

I had a serious electrical problem using this StarTech PDU. The heart of the problem is that 14 of the 16 outlets in the block suddenly lost 120V power. Here's a description of the situation that probably describes a lot more than you want to know: I bought this PDU to distribute 120V power to multiple cells that mostly have low to medium power consumption. The lower wattage items were just a couple of phone chargers (regular phones, not even higher amperage smartphones), a couple of 18650…

Pros
  • Lots of positive swings
Cons
  • Minor issues

Everything is kinda perfunctory but I needed it YESTERDAY and I have an hour left where I need to return it - so I'm not returning it unless it doesn't work but. These photos were taken after I wiped them with rubbing alcohol and folded back the mounting tab. The box is undamaged but could have been caused during transport. Sticky, sticky stuff on the other side. I have never had a problem with Startech gear but if they do now I will not use Startech gear again.

Pros
  • Protects your devices: This 8-outlet 120V rackmount power strip has a built-in circuit breaker and reset switch to keep your network devices running smoothly
Cons
  • write later
