Great product if you need USB 2.0 ports and your MB has them

I just built a new computer and there are no USB 2.0 ports in the case and on a very good one Neither do ASUS X570 motherboard. It has plenty of USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, which is great, but for things like my mouse, keyboard, etc. I only need USB 2.0 ports. I don't know if that's the case now, but many years ago, plugging USB 2.0 devices into USB 3.0 ports could slow down other ports. This may be very old, outdated information, but I plug a lot of stuff into my computer anyway, and I didn't want to…

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are errors

Works on connectors and adapters

I bought these for my desktop computer with USB3 ports but none of them use the USB2 ports on my motherboard. This allows me to use them and they work fine. I feel a bit loose in my case slot installing this like the bracket wasn't long enough. I'm not sure if this is related to my product or my case. Even if it wobbles a bit, it works perfectly. It would be nice if the cables were colors other than beige, but I don't really care.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Excellent use of the internal USB 2.0 connections

I have two different mATX housings that are installed in the last slot opposite the graphics card. This saves space and also allows the use of two USB 2.0 ports on the mainboard. The two USB ports I use the most are for the keyboard and mouse. I change keyboard and mouse cables frequently and I don't want my motherboards to wear out with every change or move. It's good to have this special and easily interchangeable adapter that gives me two extra USB ports for future expansion.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

worked on my new asus z490

advantages well made and not cheap, usb mouse connects well and secure connection, no play, fits right. The cables are more than long enough to run from the back of the case to the 2 USB 2.0 motherboard ports, they are actually too long. But I'm not complaining, just a minus, and I should have noticed, so it's MY fault, the white wires will stick out like a sore thumb in a black case with a window. I just wrap them with black tape, no problem

Pros
  • worth the money
Cons
  • not as good as it says

Good workmanship, solid design, works great!

Works great with Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard. There was always a problem with missing USB ports, two of them solved the problem :-) I can remove the old AMD Athlon USB extender and buy another one. I've been using it for a long time with various accessories without glitches. No hassle with external drives, wired or wireless gamepads/joysticks, Bluetooth or WiFi dongles. Transfer speeds are fast and HD 1080p movies play flawlessly. The connectors are solid, well insulated, and the cable is

Case color would be a plus

This product works as intended. The cable could have been used about 1/2 inch more. Whenever I manage to get my hands on a decent, full-size PCIe graphics card, I have to do a little creative routing to get the card around this thing's cables. That being said, my only complaint is that it doesn't come in black, otherwise I would have bought it in black to blend in with the rest of my suitcase. I got around the color issue somewhat by wrapping the wire braid and heat shrink tubing around the…

Steals the DAW clock cycle

Let me tell you, for most consumers this USB adapter will work just fine. For musicians using this in a DAW (if you don't know what it is, don't care) this combined with a USB 3.0 based PC is going to cause some serious frustration. I installed this when I came across a USB 2.0 device that was NOT USB 3.0 compatible. It's very, very rare, but it happens. At the time, it worked brilliantly for that purpose. Fast forward a few months though and I'm using either USB 3.0 hardware or USB 3.0…
