Worked Networking Products

Basically we had to move the WiFi link antenna away from the rather noisy processor (the 2GHz clock is right in the middle of the bands). So it works. Didn't check win/loss details or anything like that but glad value for money was ok.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Some Flaws

look closely at the connectors in the picture

The cable seems to be well made - but the ends are not what I need. I expected the male end to be hooded and the female end open threaded. Make sure this works with your antenna requirements. My fault - that's it in the picture.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Nothing

Excellent network antennas

I would buy this again. I have used StaraTech for many professional purposes as well as at home and they have not let me down. If you need to connect to one of those tricky hermaphroditic SMA connectors on various PC hardware, this won't let you down.

Pros
  • sequins
Cons
  • annoying

Fuggetaboutit for network antennas

My desktop computer has a built in wireless card with an antenna. I bought this ten foot antenna extender to improve reception by moving the antenna closer to my WiFi router in another part of the house. It didn't improve connectivity; it actually reduced the received signal by 50%. So if you think this cable will help, don't kid yourself!

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Decent cable in the Computers & Accessories category

I would call this cable a bargain. It's made in China and uses standard RG-174 coaxial cable, which is of course all polyethylene, and typically delivers around 5dB of loss at 10ft at 2.4GHz. If you want to significantly reduce losses, consider using a larger cable such as RG-58. The connectors are typical Chinese RP-SMAs with an unspecified gold plating that usually holds up quite well. Bulkhead bushing with 5/16 nut and lock washer. Both ends of the strain reliefs are heat shrinkable.

Pros
  • Good looking
Cons
  • Upgrade available

This product is NOT AS DESCRIBED.

This is probably a good RP-SMA-M to RP-SMA-F extension cable, but it is NOT an RP-SMA to SMA ADAPTER cable as advertised and described. CORRECTLY labeled on manufacturer's packaging as RP-SMA to RP-SMA cable) has an RP-SMA jack (female thread, female center conductor) and a RP-SMA plug (male thread, male center pin) on one end. same manufacturer part number (RPSMA10MF) as on the Revain site.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Style 90
