IT here, use this for cisco routers. For the price this is a steal. Works fine, crimps are good enough. This technology is over 30 years old, so the complaints are most likely invalid and user error.

Serves its purpose. I did the pinout of the brocade console and everything worked perfectly. Nothing to say, it works. Make sure you get the correct pinout the first time, as you can't just reinstall it.

Exactly what I needed other than the fact I ordered one (1) and not two (2). Because of this, I couldn't assemble a full serial cable with DB9 to RJ45 adapters on both ends. I still give it 5 stars for functionality, although I'm disappointed with the ordering confusion.

Worked well for its purpose but due to the plastic housing covering the metal connection it didn't fit snugly on some connectors to be able to attach. I had to buy an adapter cable to plug it in between as the TV I needed to connect to also had a plastic housing next to the plug that prevented it from screwing into its pins because it wasn't close enough. Overall, however, the contacts and build quality are good.

The product works great if you know exactly how you want the pins to fit together the first time. As soon as I connected some wires to the side of the DB9 adapter, they got stuck and couldn't be removed. Perhaps intentional, but if so, it should be documented and advertised as such. The product works well for one-time use or when no readjustment is required. In my case, this product did not meet my expectations.

This adapter comes with no pinout instructions. It doesn't look like it will take much abuse, which is to be expected given its plastic construction. As other reviewers have pointed out, the wire colors are not standard. I ordered two of these and the pinout was the same for both, so maybe they're all set up the same.
