Let me start by saying that there isn't a huge range of standalone monitor stands to choose from. I was looking for a stand for my 34 inch Samsung CJ791 monitor and came across this one. Pros: it works. It supports my 34 inch monitor and I can even rotate it 90 degrees. It's also very durable and well built. I like the silver finish. Cons: Poor cable management, only one clip to pull cables through.

I wear progressive lenses. When I used my flash monitor, my neck hurt from tilting my head back to see the full screen. I had to lower the monitor for this to decrease. This stand supports the weight of a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Monitor. I installed it in less than 30 minutes. The directions were excellent. Nice unit, I would recommend for a qualifying iMac too.

The stand that came with your iMac is not removable. No matter how high I sit at my desk, I still have to throw my head back. I had to specifically order an iMac without a stand and with a VESA mount so I could use my own mount and screen to go down to table level. Excellent monitor stand. I use it as a stand for a 2017 iMac with built in VESA mount. It's very light but sturdy and unlike another stand I bought for this purpose (STAND-V001H) it actually supports the weight of an iMac.
