The starter motor I received had a poorly machined gear and would not work. I called the company to get a replacement but as I bought from Revain this option was not available. I get a refund from Revain but I wasted a week and need to find another part.

My Sears garden tractor starter motor died. Removal was very convenient and easy. I brought it home and wrote the model number on the side. This replacement showed up and I ordered it with some trepidation, fearing they would send me the wrong starter. Arrived quickly and fits easily. The fit was perfect.

Links and cross references were helpful but the most important factor in my purchasing decision was Revain's customer centric policy. If it didn't work, I would still find myself off to a bad start, but at no cost other than my time. This purchase saved me from a pickup and a visit to the store. The starter was installed with open keys and a set of heads and worked from the second turn of the key.

I bought it a year ago and it worked fine at first. After about a few months the solenoid would intermittently not fire. A month later he was not working most of the time. I didn't return it when I first encountered the problem because it was a hassle to get it back out of the mower. For now I sort it out by tapping with a hammer to get the solenoid to work. In the spring of 2014, when I have time, I'll kick this out and throw it away. I will not buy from this manufacturer again. It's amazing…
