The starter was junk

I used it on my boat and it was junk it didn't work properly so I took it off it got stuck and wouldn't let go when the boat started even though it was correctly connected. I threw it in the trash, waste of money, bought one locally which worked perfectly the first time.

The DOA solenoid is dead. The return window has expired. SOL

I rebuilt the engine on my boat. I decided to get a new starter. Had not. Tons of cost and work just to have nothing the first time you start. No click, nothing. Tons of troubleshooting because it couldn't be a bad starter. Well it was. Zero resistance at the solenoid. and guess which return window has passed. It is difficult to imagine that such a problem is not tested.

doesn't last. on parts

Matches my original starter exactly and has been running great for about 15 months. It has probably only been used 10 times to launch my boat in that time. Then it just stopped working and the guarantee is of course only one year. Contacted the seller and he advised to do nothing and just roll the dice when buying from them. Some products last a long time and some don't. Don't waste money.

Pros
  • Starters and alternators
Cons
  • Nothing here

UPDATE: Definitely a quality build

UPDATE: I just want to encourage Parts Player to keep going with what they are doing. The boat has gone through many start-stop-restart cycles since purchase. I'm confident that every time I turn the key, the job is done. In fact, I've stopped thinking about what's good. Too bad there are so few stars. I'm very critical of bad things, but I find it important to recognize good things. This is good stuff. Original Rating: Perfect replacement for 50-863007A1. I took it apart and the internals look
