FITS 1997 EXPLORER: Shocks, Struts & Suspension

Perfect match for my 1997 Ford Explorer! Really aligned my back to my front and allowed me to go from 225-65-17 to 265-70-17

Cons
  • Almost everything is OK

Revainrating 5 out of 5

heavy and strong at spares

I've eliminated my Expy's sagging rear, added some spring assist shocks and given the Explorer a stiffer stance. Heavy gauge metal welds. Installs with factory screws, but new screws may be required.

Cons
  • High Price

Beautifully made braces

Beautifully made braces! Installed on Explorer 2000. The only problem was that I needed slightly longer screws due to the thickness of the flat brace they are made of. OEMs are not that fat. Went to my local Ford dealer and got the bolts for the ranger leaf springs which are a bit longer and fit perfectly!

Highly recommended for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

The stays on my 99 are almost completely rusted and the rear triangle sags a lot. They are durable and it was easy to make. There are no fasteners included, but I went to the hardware store and bought some sturdy screws. I wouldn't use factory screws, it's better to take new ones. The truck looked great!

Cons
  • Big and bulky

Wonderful. I recommend!

The product is well made. I definitely recommend it. I've had it for about 8 months now and the only issue I've had is very minimal rust so I would recommend covering the cuffs. I also wish it came with longer screws, but standard screws work well. Just make sure you tighten them to the specified torque.

Cons
  • Something different

Beautiful and strong. Bring your bolts.

I like that it's made of fairly thick steel. Gave me a good boost. Beautiful and strong. As a result of the increase in steel thickness, I had to buy new bolts as the existing ones were too short. It would be nice if the screw was included to provide enough length to tighten properly.

Cons
  • There are doubts

The fit is great and they are much more secure than the originals. My driving is back to normal. However, you need to contact ACE equipment to get high-strength bolts. Refunded me another $20 after nuts and bolts. In any case, I wouldn't use regular bolts, especially if they're forged and threaded. Just buy new screws, it will save you a lot of time. PRO TIP: Rent or borrow an air hammer to get this job done in under an hour, or use a hammer and it takes MUCH longer.

Excellent detailed product description below

Excellent product. I was kind of sketchy ordering this and trusting them, but when they arrived they were so heavy in the box I didn't think they would be. They're made out of something super strong and probably better than my stock. Also for those who doubt the ride quality, it rides great with them, you would think it would ride a little different, but it rides great and you can feel 2 inches of lift when you sit down. $20 and some zinc nuts and bolts. I got 4 nuts and bolts for $14 but I…

Good construction, great shackles

I used these on a '97 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD to raise the rear about 2" to allow the mounting of 31" x 10.5" tires on stock 15" rims to prepare. I am very happy with the quality of these restraints and would recommend them. (I also used 2" extensions for the rear shocks, which was probably unnecessary.) I finished the job by doing a "twist twist" to raise the front and straighten the car. Aligning the front is the final step. NOTE: Installation went fine on the driver's side but was very…
