Great product for the price

Love the price of these traction boards. After using them I can see traces of stress on the plastic but it has held up. Worked without problems the first time. I suppose for the price I can buy 4 sets of these and still not pay as much as brand name traction boards.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Great alternative to MaxTrax

Great product, works as described. Much cheaper than the alternative (Max Trax), holds up well, has been used about 10 times on a full size truck (Excursion) and shows no signs of wear. Doesn't bend as much as Max Trax and is much stiffer than them. Great option if you want to save some money.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Not sure

Garbage. Broke on first use.

Don't waste your money! I used them on a flat surface in the sand (not to bridge a gap or anything) and they broke. They are also my disposable item. The bag is cheap too and the boards ripped right through on my first trip. I should have spent a few bucks more and bought better quality boards.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Good product! Can't beat the price!

Great boards, especially at this price point. The plastic is much stronger and higher quality than expected. Even if they last 1-2 years with moderate recreational use, I could buy them 2 more times before they outweigh the cost of a branded rebuild board. That's 6 years of use with no damage to the bank.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Reliability

Gray quality for the price

So fun to get! First thoughts are that they are almost the same quality as the big brands I have had in the past (I lost them in the dunes). I wouldn't hesitate to expect them to work exactly the same. From the looks of them they are similar in style to the tred brand so I'll try to find out if the mounting hardware is compatible. Test these bad guys out in the snow tonight! Soon I will supplement the review with snow photos.

Stegodon to the rescue

I bought these with full expectation that they would remain in my bag for the foreseeable future. The weather in Seattle had a different notion and I found myself pulling them out for a few riders stuck on our hilly, icy roads. As advertised, they worked on everything from the Prius to the big pickup. I doubt the manufacturer has planned to reuse them on concrete so I don't mind wearing them out - in fact I won't hesitate to order them again when the time comes to replace them. Great price for…

They are great for the car

I have used them several times and they work great. I'm in the Everglades, so about 1,000 square miles of soft swamp. I can't imagine any other recovery board that costs 2-3 times as much doing much better. I have a 4Runner but have used it on a few other cars to get it out of the mud and it runs like a champ. Love the way they stack together and the bag they come in isn't top quality but it's good enough and extra handy to put dirty boards in so you don't get dirt on the truck , and you can…

  • Free for educational purposes

Brilliant! Just make sure you have a shovel.

Haven't tried it yet but like the colour. Seems well made and hope is as strong as what I've seen in videos testing another clone brand against Maxtrax. The package arrived as if the courier checked it. Completely shredded. Fits well in the Thule Cascade box. To edit. Finally had to try it. I used it, along with a rescue harness, to pull out a front-wheel drive Toyota Tercel with the rear stuck deep in a snowdrift. (A shovel was definitely required, too.) I was pulling my Subaru Forester…
