Sten replacement spindle offers superior performance

Excellent product. Exceeded my expectations. An oiler extends the service life of your swath spindle. I installed it on my Cub Cadet LTX1045 46 inch self propelled mower and it runs smoothly with no hesitation. It is recommended to lubricate after every other cut to keep it in perfect shape. Better than the last 5 previous spindles I replaced. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Appearance

This spindle is much better than the original Cub Cadet spindle

This spindle is much better than the original Cub Cadet spindle. Cub Cadet spindles do not have a grease fitting, so it's best to replace them with SENS when they become worn. The STENS spindle has a grease fitting so the spindle can be lubricated and will last much longer. Cub Cadet wear out their spindles faster and they hope people will buy new ones from them.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Modern

Not an exact copy of the original.

See other comments about the need for screwing. I didn't expect any improvisation. I thought it was "just like the original". The number of "teeth" on the spindle holding the blade varied. The new one had 3 teeth and the original had at least 6. I think it would be better if there were more teeth. I have replaced both original spindles and one, twice with original Cub Cadet parts. Doesn't work that well with the original material, so maybe these mods are improvements. I recalled coming back to…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

The first problem: the height of the pulley did not fit - it was.

First problem: Pulley height mismatch - about 1/4 inch lower than OEM which caused the belt to rub on the tension spring assembly. The second problem: mounting holes are not cut. The part does not include *new* self-tapping screws, which is a major omission since you don't realize that the old screws you just removed from your deck are already stress-relieved during their first self-tapping operation. the second hole with very little effort. These are such special screws, I went to a few places

Pros
  • nice touch
Cons
  • almost ok
