GM Truck Radio Female Plug

Some GM models may require a horn/data bus for extra performance, but this is the dependable female side of a standard GM wiring harness for the money

Cons
  • There Are New Competitors

Product description is wrong.

Not fully compatible with 2005 Chevy Colorado. YOU must run your own auxiliary cable! And it should have been revealed in the description!

Cons
  • Available in white only

The wire placement warning may not be appropriate for your vehicle.

. Not a bad buy, although it can be easily connected to the factory plug. Surprisingly, marking each wire saves a lot of time and paper, but they're all in the wrong places, which negates the time savings. Now you need to find the schematic. I would have gotten a 5 star rating if I didn't have to swap all the wires where they should be.

Cons
  • Only available in black

Not for 2001 Grand Am as listed

Product cables were completely different from the car connector (for 2001 Grand Am). Since I had already soldered a new wire harness to this connector/wires, I had to remove the pins and reattach the connector using the schematic. As others have pointed out, if you need horns and other in-car features, you'll need an additional adapter. Hours later I still have no power for the new radio and have another day to troubleshoot. I advise against buying this yarn.

Cons
  • Not the best

Need more than just a wiring harness

Fits 2006 GMC Sierra wiring but power connectors are mismatched or in the wrong place (UNIVERSAL KIT). You will need a second wire going to the A/C/heater control box under the radio to provide the required 12v ACC. The second red wire connects to the red wire on the wiring harness and everything works fine. You need to tie to the brown AC control wire. The other kits here have a second red wire, this one doesn't. Check YouTube, there was only 1 video explaining this and it doesn't explain it…

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Wiring to the main unit harness was easy as everything is labeled and color coded. The problem after wiring, soldering and then installing the car radio. I still didn't have the strength. Made me think there was something wrong with the seat belts or the car radio. In a way it was a harness. The wiring harness was ok but the extra wire (ignition wire) is not included and is needed for a proper installation. Especially on 2006 vehicles. The reason for the 3 star rating is because 1) the cable is

Cons
  • Damaged

Check each cable before installation

I didn't like it very much. I've done about a dozen stereo setups and it's always been about matching the colors and then plugging in and playing. The pins didn't even match the car's wiring harness. At first I thought it was a bad connection until I checked it out. I can understand the extra cables for universal use, but that was just plain wrong. Had to move 2 pins to make it work, if I had caught it before trying to install I would have returned it but as I had already made 2 attempts to get

Cons
  • weak

The 2004 Chevy Trailblazer (not Onstar) did not have a keyed power wire in the available accessory location where the factory radio is located, or in the factory wiring harness. Thus, the cable in the plug is connected to air, since there is no mating pin in the factory wiring harness. So you need to find a power adapter with a key on the cord to plug it in. I found mine in a large factory plug that was under the steering column and routed a broken piece of wire to my new radio to provide power

Cons
  • Keep quiet
