Thanks for getting me to poke some holes in the walls so they fall off right away! If you install this product in studs, you can be fine. But in order to set the crossbar (to use both together) one of the sides had to be dry built separately with drywall anchors. It won't even hold a jean hanger without breaking out of the wall. So NO, I do not recommend this product

The product is actually very good but the screws and dowels provided to attach the brackets to the wall are a bit too small. I installed the mounts with the hardware that came with it and it seemed a bit flimsy to me. I replaced them with heavier screws and anchors and the result was much better. For nearly $40, the manufacturer should have provided better hardware.

I love this product! Everyone in the house is tall. That's why we always dry all our tops. We spent years figuring out where to hang them all on laundry day. We had shelves, but they looked awful and always got in the way of large family members. We were able to tidy up ugly shelves and posts with these retractable clothes racks. This should be very easy to install and in theory it's a great idea. But the template attached to the hole drilling product is not correct. (It deviates about 1/2 inch). This indicates that the holes must be drilled too close together. This does not take into account the need to extract and lock the bottom screw.
