This set was bought to store 2 surfboards in my garage. They were easy to install but I agree with other reviewers that the screws were too short to fit properly in the studs. Luckily I had longer screws on hand so it was an easy fix. So far they are holding up great and are great value for money.

Reviews made me a little hesitant, but so far so good! Easy to install, yaks still hang on the wall and no longer occupy the floor. Life is good! As you can see in the photo I screwed the studs directly into the wall. The supplied screws are used and seem to fit. Installation took about 5 minutes.A simple and affordable solution to the urgent problem of yaks occupying the garage floor.

Good product and price. The only problem was that the heads of the screws came off when screwing in with a Dewalt screwdriver. I would recommend going to your local hardware store for a better quality screw or pre-drilling a hole before installing. On a VERY windy day, one of my boats was pulled out of its anchorage. I stuck a small eyebolt into the fence to tie it down. Since then no further problems. I don't think a more expensive mount would be better than this one.

I used these poles to hang a full size adult kayak (top yellow kayak in the picture). The yellow kayak is at least 20 years old, it is well made, the plastic is thick. Difficult! I even have a heavy duty river cooler in the kayak. Bars work as they should. You keep my boat. No longer. As long as you don't get aggressive with them, banging the boat against the rack or yanking the boat off the rack, they're fine. Overall, the hooks are strong and will easily support our 55# Yaks+ gear. The supplied screws broke off during assembly. DO NOT USE THE SCREWS SUPPLIED WITH THIS PRODUCT. We used high-quality self-tapping screws for assembly. The hooks swing from side to side due to the rounded backs of the hangers; So we installed 2 "2-hole rib clamps" on each hanger to keep them from swinging from side to side (see picture). This is a cheap stand that certainly works, but there are a few issues that don't make it worth the cheap price to me. the hook, if you will - the part that comes out of the wall - stands up too crookedly. This requires you to lift the kayak higher to turn it on and off. Therefore, if your kayak is heavy, the poles will most likely scratch the bottom of your kayak when you put it on or take it off.
