Ideal for making postcards

I really like this product. When it comes to card making/stamping, I particularly like the smoothness. When I print on watercolor paper using the cold press method, the images often come out incomplete and the lines are jagged. Lines are sharper and images are sharper on this paper. The weight is significant but not as heavy as the cold press paper I use. This hot press paper is ideal for layering. I will buy it again!

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Older model

handy size: arts, paints and crafts supplies

I'm learning colored pencil illustration and this paper is really good for it. The size is very convenient - big enough to make something of a life-size floral illustration, but small enough to be carried around. This size was perfect for practice and small details. Honestly I'll probably buy bigger sheets and trim them now because it ends up being cheaper. But if you don't feel like it, this is a good sized paper to start with small pieces and practice.

Something is wrong with this paper!

so I'm not sure if that's wrong with the paper I received or all the paper in the queue is like that. Every piece of paper I've tried using has spots in the paper that don't evenly absorb ink or water, if at all. The paper itself looks fine at first glance, with no visible flaws, but with use it shows spots of water and pigment rising, like painting on plastic. I'm using my Daniel Smith kit for this, so I know it's not paint. In the second picture you can see that the samples I'm making were…

Great for stamping and watercolor painting

This is my favorite watercolor paper for stamping and coloring. I used watercolor paints, water based markers, watercolor markers and colored pencils. I layered colors to get deeper, richer colors and the paper held up. The water soaks into the paper instead of just sitting on it, and the ink migrates well into wet areas. I like a hot embossing press as it is much smoother than a cold one. This way you get clear stamp images. Oh, it's important to use stamped archival inks as water-based inks…

My New Brand of Paper

I've been using this paper for a year now and can't wait to update my old review. This paper is still my favorite brand of paper. I hate cutting paper so this is very handy. I've tried both hot and cold paper and my opinions on both papers are the same. I also used 2 media types on this paper as I was painting in watercolor when I posted my original review and have since switched to gouache. When I used watercolors before, my colors looked very light on this paper. Different brands of paper…
