Wish it was better quality!

I love Stride Rite shoes for my 17 month old son! He has wide feet and these shoes are always so comfortable, light! I was very excited when I ordered this pair but was disappointed that after wearing it once it started to fray at the front of the shoe (the material was torn and peeling). The photos shown in other reviews reflect what my son's shoes looked like after first use. His first use was at a backyard birthday party, but mostly on the lawn. I was very frustrated that the level of wear…

Pros
  • Support for growing legs
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for children with wide feet.

Comfortable but only worn once and falling apart

I just bought these sneakers for my 3 year old. The fit and look of these shoes were amazing but she only wore them once and the toe was snapped and what was even more surprising the tread was "worn"...we just wanted to go to the park. I missed the return window by a day or I would have sent them back.

Pros
  • Lightweight for easy movement
Cons
  • Limited availability in certain colors

Poor quality - my new review

Overall the Stride Rite is a good shoe, but this shoe sucks. Shoes fall apart after 2 weeks. I recommend finding something else.

Pros
  • Great shoe, there is an insert to make the shoe normal or take it out if the child has a wide foot. Highly recommended for the price.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for sports

Terrible quality in my rating

My daughter has worn these shoes twice, both at preschool part time for 3 hours. The second time they came back like this, with the toe front pieces ripped off. My daughter is not picky about her shoes, she wore the last pair for several months with no problems. Judging by the soles, they are new. I am very disappointed with this purchase, especially the price. I spent more on the Stride Rite assuming the quality matched the cost. Of course, my returns window closed last week.

Pros
  • Can promote proper foot development
Cons
  • Limited availability in some regions

Not a brand new review

Our boys have been wearing the shoes for a week and the front is already damaged. This is a good brand but expensive for the poor. My boys are very active but it takes time for their shoes to wear out like this. I don't buy anymore.

Pros
  • My daughter is very hard on the toes of her shoes. These are very neat!
Cons
  • Garbage

Great shoes for kindergarten

We replaced the pair that our son grew out of with the exact same pair because these shoes are so great. My little one wears them for over 9 hours, many of them walk without complaint.

Pros
  • Great shoes for toddlers
Cons
  • It is too expensive

Great value for my opinion

They were bought for my grandson who has trouble learning new things. But he loves these! He immediately ran into her. They look good, he likes the way they feel.

Pros
  • Additional cushioning for extra comfort
Cons
  • It may not be breathable enough to avoid sweaty feet.

Worn out in 3 days - not durable

My little one has been wearing them for 3 days and the leather material on the toes is already worn out. I was expecting better quality from a brand like Stride Rite as they have been wearing their original Stride Rite shoes for months! These sneakers just don't feel sturdy enough for a toddler's day-to-day activities.

Pros
  • I always buy Stride-Rite for my boys, they never disappoint. They are ideal for wide feet.
Cons
  • It may not provide enough traction

Disintegrated in just a few months

Very disappointed - the shoes fit and we are comfortable but they fell apart less than 6 months after purchase. My baby boy found them very comfortable to walk in!.

Pros
  • My toddler felt very comfortable in it!
Cons
  • Shoes may not last long

Great shoes my pros and cons

I love the durability and quality of the Stride Rite. My child is 4 years old and has worn them since he could walk. There are many options, but Stride Rite is much more durable, easy to care for and machine washable.

Pros
  • Great for sports
Cons
  • Shoes may not fit

Great supportive shoe for growing kids

These shoes fit my energetic 4 year old perfectly. I love that you can remove the insert to customize and/or wear longer as baby grows. They're chipped off a bit from abrasions on the toes. We've had them for a month and a half now. I've washed them once so far. The rest of the shoes are almost like new.

Pros
  • The order came quickly, the Velcro works perfectly.
Cons
  • May not be available in all sizes.

Uncomfortable for fat legs

I bought these from Kolya for my 2 year old. His toes are swollen and it's very difficult to find shoes to put on him. I took a chance because I could buy them in the store. I stretched them as best I could, but when I put them on him, he kept pulling his left hand off. Eventually I realized they were scraping the top of his foot (he had a visible crust). Poor thing, no wonder he hated her. The shoes also got scratched after a few uses but this has happened to every pair of shoes I've bought…

Pros
  • The Stride Rite brand is known for its quality
Cons
  • May not provide adequate ankle support.

Will it fall apart in a month?

My 2 year old has been wearing them for a few weeks now. They hold up well and he can put them on himself. *** Update in 5 weeks. Doesn't that look like a well made article? I will update if I notice any holes. I don't wear it every day, maybe 3 times a week.

Pros
  • Perfect for everyday travel! Great for strengthening ankles and growing like my son!
Cons
  • Shoes can cause blisters

It is not good if your child is rough on shoes

They work well for children with wide feet, but if they are uncomfortable, use the ones in the photo. The step rituals in the photo lasted a month, the cilantro was his only shoe for two months, and there is little to no wear on the toe! The shoes fit wide as is, we increased them by half a size to be safe and we had no problems.

Pros
  • Beautiful and durable.
Cons
  • Shoes can be uncomfortable

Not comfortable in my rating

My son refused to wear them. He said they hurt (although they should be ok in size). They are much stiffer than regular running shoes and feel cheap. They don't look like his other rite of passage shoes.

Pros
  • These are really nice little shoes. It's too early to say how they will hold up, they seem to be of great quality.
Cons
  • Shoes may not provide adequate cushioning

Excellent quality suits me

Made from high quality materials, perfect for babies. Simple bright colors to match uniforms and kits. Ideal for growing. The only thing that bothered me was the price, but maybe it was worth it if it works well over time.

Pros
  • Great quality at a good price! My boy has wide feet and they fit perfectly!
Cons
  • Super cute shoes but no stretch at all

I expected more from Stride Rite.

I don't know, maybe my expectations are too high. All I know is that they fall apart after less than 5 socks. They just don't make their shoes like they used to. It's hit or miss. I'm keeping them, but I may have to go back to buying shoes in person. Oh, I definitely wouldn't buy any of the samples before buying them. I ordered six so I only kept these, they all seem to be defective in some way. Not because of stains or anything, but because of the way they were designed. Most of them were my…

Pros
  • Stylish look
Cons
  • Dressing and undressing may not be easy

Great sale price, full price not sure

I bought them on sale for $20 and they were a very good deal. My two year old loved them and wouldn't wear anything else. He ended up wearing her as long as he could fit and they stayed together. I would say he wore them for about 4 or 5 months.

Pros
  • Comfortable to wear all day long
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for children with flat feet.

Lightweight - ideal for bulging baby feet!

I really liked the price and quality of these kids shoes. The colors were great and the quality is very good. It is lightweight and easy to put on and take off.

Pros
  • These are good quality shoes. I think the removable pads will allow my little one to wear them a little longer than usual.
Cons
  • May not be available in half sizes

The fit was great and well made

These shoes grow before they wear out. Great fit and easy for a 4 year old to wear and put on. As long as she wears them 4 out of 5 days a week.

Pros
  • My toddler loves the shoes but they are heavier than other shoes.
Cons
  • Can not breathe
