Not suitable for AFO!

It is very sweet. The description says "adjustable" so I ordered an extra wide for my granddaughter who wears AFO. AFO will not slip into shoes even when the insole is removed. We found that the only "ADJUSTABLE" part of the shoe is that the upper Velcro has three sizes that can be trimmed to size and a removable insole. I am extremely disappointed.

Pros
  • They are very well made, my grandson loves them.
Cons
  • The shoes are adorable but they are so tight at the top that my daughter can't get her foot in them. And we increased the size to full height!

Great preschool shoes

The colors match almost every outfit. Velcro is comfortable for my daughter. Best of all, the insole slides out for easy cleaning. She says they are comfortable. I went up a size as I would with any shoe and they still fit great. She only wore them for a week so I'm not sure about longevity but they seem sturdy. No complaints.

Pros
  • Shoes must be tied. I was hoping for a velcro closure
Cons
  • Adorable sneakers and my granddaughter loved them but the velcro won't stay closed. So very disappointing.

Picture and size are deceptive

Picture and size are deceiving. The order I placed was for my 7 year old grandson. At the same time I also ordered a pair of shoes for him. Both were next to each other on the same side but when I received my order one pair was correct and the other for a small child. My suggestion would be to separate the children's ages or state that the sizing is for babies, toddlers or small children and large children!

Pros
  • they were too small
Cons
  • The size is larger, probably a half size or larger.

Terrible! my pros and cons

UPDATE: We've been enjoying this shoe for about a month until I noticed that the shoe's outsole traction is losing traction in several places. Now he can't even put them on or he might trip over the flying rubber. I'm so disappointed in the step ritual. This brand used to be better. I definitely advise against buying this brand. We love the Stride Rite brand. These are always quality and comfortable shoes. My 5 year old son really liked them and said they fit his feet well.

Pros
  • Bought two pairs so far. Wide fit is good. Might order a third pair soon. Durable.
Cons
  • Will not rate or order again! Less than a month later it started falling apart! Atypical quality of the rite of passage!

Not suitable for wide feet

It's a 50/50 chance with the stride-rite width and it's not a winner. To be on the safe side, I put them on x-wide, he can wear them wide in other styles. Even when I removed the sole from the inside, I didn't even put my foot in it. The ones we received were also different from the picture here. We had velcro and the picture shows laces. I was glad there weren't laces, but if they were I might be able to loosen them enough for his foot to fit. In the part where the elastic crosses it really…

Pros
  • My daughter loves her
Cons
  • Ordered a size 8 and they run small and narrow compared to other Striderite shoes. I should have bet 9 or 10.

Love Stride Rite shoes for children

size fits. Not tight and small like Nike. There is enough space in the toe box so that the toes are not squeezed. Allows legs to develop as they should.

Pros
  • Provides enough cushioning for kids who like to play rough.
Cons
  • May cause discomfort in children with foot injuries or conditions

Didn't fit - very tight

Although they were labeled 'wide', due to the elastic laces, they were very tight and actually pinched my grandson's legs. I cut them off completely and now these are his "gaming" shoes.

Pros
  • I bought three pairs of the same size Stride Rite tennis shoes and they were much smaller than the other pairs.
Cons
  • I'm guessing 4 year olds have a hard time at school? I'm sad they couldn't even last 1/2 year.

Very tight!: my rating

The shoes have a very beautiful and cute color. My 2.5 year old granddaughter has chunky toddler feet. The shoes didn't even go over her toes. Very very narrow. The leg opening seems too small. Don't buy in bulk!

Pros
  • Withstands the harshest weather conditions
Cons
  • Limited breathability can lead to sweaty feet.

Nothing for wide feet - my new test report

They were the right length but they were too tight over her feet and every time she put them on and we took them off her toes turned red from complaining of pain in that area.

Pros
  • Stylish design that kids will love
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other options for children's shoes.

It worked great: my rating

These shoes fit my 2 year old perfectly! She's outgrowing them and I will most likely be ordering a larger pair again. She's picky about her shoes so I'm glad I found one that fits her!

Pros
  • A great gift for your child, grandson, niece, nephew or a friend's child
Cons
  • Restricted ventilation can leave feet smelly or prone to infection.

NOT WIDE my rating is the best in my rating

This product is good but too small. I bought my son a wide ax and it is not wide at all. Actually has an elastic material that makes it very tight. My daughter also has a pair and her tiny skinny feet find these sneakers too tight.

Pros
  • Very good running shoes, however I find them half a size smaller than other brands like Puma or Nike.
Cons
  • Difficult to put on and take off

Inaccurate size: my rating

It says size 5 BIG KID. I ordered them and received child size. I thought it was a mistake so I changed them but got an infant size 5 again.

Pros
  • Adapts perfectly to the shape of your child's foot and offers maximum support
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children with toe or nail problems.

Nice shoes but one problem

i love shoes My daughter loves them (she is 2 years old) but the straps are not long enough and often come loose. I even went half a size bigger than what she wears. In the description it even sounds like the straps could be shortened but I found them too short and I have to over tighten which frustrates my girlfriend. If they fixed the straps issue I would give 5.

Pros
  • Excellent support for safe and secure walking
Cons
  • Shoelaces often unravel

Terrible! my rating is the best in my rating

These shoes are very narrow and small. I bought them 1.5 sizes larger and they leave significant pressure marks on my child's heel and instep. He has a narrow foot and these shoes are wide. Very disappointed. My baby refuses to carry!

Pros
  • Ideal for active toddlers
Cons
  • Not suitable for formal occasions

Poor quality in my rating.

I am very disappointed in these shoes. After just one pair of our socks, they show signs of wear and damage on the top. Can't stand money.

Pros
  • Such a cute and comfy shoe for my granddaughter. She wears them to daycare every day and they hold up like new.
Cons
  • Nice but blistered the first day my little one wore them.

Tight, velcro won't close

My granddaughter's size 5 Stride-Rite shoes (different design shoes) are starting to feel tight/too small. I bought them in size 6. They're harder to put on than her size 5 sneakers. And the Velcro keeps coming off. I regret buying them. She wore them for 3 days otherwise I would have sent them back.

Pros
  • I always love this brand. Well sewn, easy to put on, give stability to the baby who is learning to walk!
Cons
  • The tab at the end of the Velcro came loose after my daughter only wore it a couple of times. Not the quality I expected.

Uncomfortably good for me

They say they are for wide feet but I don't think that's right. My son refuses to wear them because they hurt his foot. He says they are too tight.

Pros
  • The first pair of shoes with flashing lights in the heels of the soles. Now there's a lot of stomping and giggling.
Cons
  • Bulky and heavy construction

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Strangely done? good for me

They leave strange marks/blisters on my child's feet after breaking in. It looks like they are poorly made or something is wrong. He can't wear them.

Pros
  • Bought for grandchildren. They were a little big, but he could grow in them.
Cons
  • Shoes have a narrow fit, so be sure to order a wide fit for boys who tiptoe.

Ultra wide shoes are the best in my rating

Great shoes everywhere. My daughter has to wear a bandage and couldn't find the extra wide shoes she needed so I found them at Revain. They are not too tight and allow her to walk very comfortably with the orthosis and boot on her foot.

Pros
  • Non-marking outsole for indoor and outdoor use
Cons
  • Not waterproof or water resistant

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Small size for my pros and cons

I bought these to replace a pair of size 7 Stride-Rite shoes and they don't feel like a full size. It looks cute and seems typical of this brand with good durability, but the sizing definitely feels wrong.

Pros
  • Provides stability and support for growing feet.
Cons
  • May be uncomfortable for children with wide feet.
