Significantly simplifies the stripping of thin wires.

You really need these when you need to strip thin wires. I'm very tired of stripping small wires with a knife, wire cutters, scissors, or SOMETHING else that wasn't designed for the job. I'm in a situation where I need to strip category 5 and 6 cables from time to time (not for normal network cables). It's 22 or 24 AWG and that makes it a lot easier. An off-topic tip: someone asked me what you do when you need to strip wires smaller than this. You're probably soldering in that little gauge, and

Great Wire Strippers

These are vintage backup units and work great. The blades are sharp, the steel is of high quality, the handles are comfortable, the tool itself is quite light. I've limped around with a wire stripper for years because all you need is a small blade and your kit, but this is *much* better. I prefer this type to heavier general purpose wire strippers, it seems easier to use. I bought it and its heavier gauge cousin (Klein Tools 11055, with yellow stripe) so I can work with any row of wires. I…

Works well on tiny LED wires.

So I bought some Revain eagle eye LEDs. It was painful to undress her to tie her up. I wasn't expecting such fun wires. When a friend bought different LEDs and had the same thin wires, we decided we needed the right tool for the job. Most wire strippers are 22 ga at best. They take over from there and move on to 32 stranded and 30 fixed. I kept a piece of wire from the LEDs. Turns out they were 26ga. First I melted the casing from the wires. It worked. They are great for cutting wire. It…

Typical Klein stream

Klein has maintained the same philosophy throughout his work, IMO, -- simplicity. However, this is a true small scale design, nothing out of the ordinary, no fancy features, no exotic materials and no price tag. respectively. It's good. The bad news is that their incisors are always either not as sharp as they should be or cut too deep for their setting. This product is an example of these qualities. Using an 8AWG wire stripper, strip away a lot of the stranded wire, i.e. use a stranded wire…
