Large Flash Mount

This is a small form factor flash mount. Pros for this: 1. Can hold the camera for a more stable hold. 2. Takes up less space in your camera bag. 3. Professional look. 4. Less weight. Too bad one reviewer didn't read the instructions or he would have been able to use it with his camera. There is a height adjustment for just what he needs. Great item, love it!

Pros
  • Camera and Photo
Cons
  • Drill Kit

small flash drive

Does what it's supposed to, but touch it before you buy if you can. The flash head shakes a lot, but that's standard on most mounts in this class. Here's what to look out for before you buy: 1) Note that the mount slides forward from the bottom of the camera - if you normally hold the barrel from the bottom, be prepared to change it out. 2) Based on the reviews above. - The flash mount is height-adjustable in the vertical plane. You can adjust it with Phillips screws to sit over the sensorsโ€ฆ

Perfect for party/event photography

I have been using this product for over 2 years and I have to say that while not in the same league as its high end competitors it is excellent value for money offers and it does about everything these $200+ brackets offer. I'm currently using it with a Canon semi-pro SLR (40D) and a 550EX flash. I usually use a Canon 16-35mm L or a Canon 28-70L and both lenses are larger (in diameter) and the frame handles them easily. You can adjust frame base, flash height and position. Mount so you canโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Flash accessory
Cons
  • Safety

Slightly small, best flash accessory

This product was recommended to me by an online photo store. I was excited to try it but the top of the mount was blocking my SC-29 sensor. If the distance between the bottom of the strut and the top was 1/2 inch more everything would be perfect. This means we will be going back to another brace. Anyone looking for a D70S clamp with SB-800 and SC-29. Make sure you get the larger bracket. I'm sure I would have rated it higher if it had fitted properly.

Pros
  • Lightweight aluminum construction with a fired finish for durability
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Small format stick

It does what it's supposed to do, but if possible you should pack it in before you buy it take the hand . Shake the flash head, but that's standard for most braces in this class. Here's what to look out for before you buy: 1) Note that the mount protrudes forward from the bottom of the camera - if you normally hold the barrel from below, be prepared to change it. 2) Based on the reviews above. - The flash mount is height-adjustable in the vertical plane. You can adjust it with Phillips screwsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Compact "no-grip" swing arm for 35mm SLR and 6 x 4.5mm cameras
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Poor design for cameras that don't have a fixed focal length

Got it as a Christmas present. I absolutely loved it as I haven't had one before and it was so light. After putting it on my camera (Canon T1i), I immediately noticed that I can no longer hold the camera under the lens to adjust the focal length and that I have very small hands. I tried to align my hand and pelvis, but no matter where I put them, they would get caught on my thumb, knuckles, or palm. The only way to use it and set my focal length would be to manipulate the lens very gracefullyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Circles the camera unobtrusively while keeping the flash above the lens
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
