I like that it's made of wood and doesn't have small plastic parts that can easily break. I like that it's easy for me to move around on the floor if I want to, but it's not slippery or slippery at all. (I'm on the mat, for what it's worth.) This is an extremely durable, well designed and well made footrest. I had a static wedge under my desk for years, it was just a simple wedge but it slipped too often. I recently tried another style that felt more like a pillow, round on one side and flat on the other, but it was too soft, too narrow, and didn't provide much support. I really wanted to like this footstool. The other one I tried was crappy plastic and smelled like chemicals. Advantages: very durable, does not smell of chemicals. I really like this stool. This is the ideal height to place under a table and the rocking motion allows for less pressure and frequent repositioning. I bet it's better for my circulation if my legs move more like this. The protector on my feet was a bit loose on one side but it snapped back in nicely. It would have been easy to adjust or even replace because not only did they use a stick on the tread, they also attached it with screws on both legs. I like that because no profile lasts forever…
