Perfect replacement for Suburban SW6D water heater

Exact replacement. I checked the gap between the electrodes twice and it was exactly 1/8 inch which is within spec. Ease of installation.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Shorter cord than other picks

Easy to replace with RV Parts and Accessories

Our water heater will simply shut off without warning. Then it just clicked like it wanted to start, after a few tries it shut off. I assumed there was no spark, so there was no gas. I received this electrode, replaced it in about 1 minute, and after that the water heater caught fire. Ooooo.

I didn't have to change it, but it works great!

I bought this to replace my swd6e. Fits perfectly. I should have checked my board first because it was burnt but I installed it in 2 seconds so I decided to keep it to myself. After replacing the circuit board (I recommend Dinosaur UIB) my water heater started working immediately. So I probably don't need this part, but it works great for me.

Fired straight away at Water Heaters, Parts & Accessories

I started buying new 6 gallon water heaters for my Chinook RV. About $500 when I decided to give it a try. The igniter was different, how it was fitted and which way the prongs were pointing (they were up or down, the old one sideways) but after many MacGyverings (a good 30 minutes) I fitted it and it ignited. up to. $14 vs. $500. Pretty good deal.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • I'll add later

The water heater in my RV has a misfire and a local mechanic advised me to get the part. I called my local RV dealer and they wanted $24 and the part took a week to ship. Then I switched to Revain and voila, the part was half price. Bingo. As soon as I received the part (two days later) it caught fire and I've had great hot water ever since.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Tighten 1 screw very slightly and reattach the electric cable.

I think I should share my experience on this. Went camping the other day to light a water heater and it lit a flame, caught fire and shut off after about 5 seconds. The electric excavator broke my old electrode. This is an igniter and a flame sensor. The old electrode did not detect a flame. Tighten 1 screw very lightly and fasten the electric cable. Be careful not to damage the blade. Fix in 5 minutes. Hope this helps someone else. Back on duty!
