Suburban 232286 Electrode Review

I installed this in a Suburban SF-30 Oven and it works great. However, I'm deducting a star because it's about 50% larger than the previous igniter and I had to modify the mounting plate and change the attachment point to match. This is the correct number listed for the SF-30 in the parts breakdown, so I don't know if they just stopped making the smaller one or what.

Very easy installation. Make sure you have a new gasket to keep gas from spilling into your RV! This, along with a new circuit board, solved my lack of heat issue. There is an upgrade board called the Dinosaur Fan 50 (also available here on Amazon) that has status lights to troubleshoot oven light issues. Also vacuum up the rust and make sure the gas pipe isn't clogged as you will need to open the furnace to install the new electrode.

It's ok if you need to modify anything on it to make it fit and work. On my commuter SF30 this would need to be changed to make it work. The bushings are wrong and only one when 2 are needed, the wire looks and feels so thin and brittle, the stem is in a heat resistant rubber sleeve but it isn't. Not what is in the picture! The item in the pickup is the correct one and I have to drag the cooker in my 5th wheel to replace that item. Ordered it in Pdx Rv and got the rite.

What I received was non original part, didn't look like the picture/original, different cable {HOPE IT'S HOT}! . And just a gasket / insulator on the wire. Went, installed, let's see what happens! . Looks like a cheap Chinese imitation! . I found a picture online that matches the one I received. It was made by a company called MC Enterprises that makes replacement RV products. The people I bought the detonator from have offered to return it for a refund and I will take up the offer.
