Suburban SW6DEL Water Heater - DSI/Electronic, 6 Gallon, Model 5240A Review

I am absolutely disappointed with this. I ordered this water heater because it is listed as gas/electric and only gas came. I had to install it because we were on vacation and needed hot water. This will be the last time we shop here!

I have used this to replace an almost identical model. Same dimensions and basically the same electronics, but the old one didn't have an electric heater, but this one did. Fits perfectly in place of the old one and with the help of the instructions it's easy to connect the electrical element.

I ordered this and when it arrived there was no visible damage to the outside of the box. However, inside the box, the water heater was damaged, with a huge dent right on the front. sent them a message and the second was on its way the next day and they took the first with them. Very easy to work with.

I have been to several and they work well. Received as expected. Good solid box and packaging. I noticed that insulating foam for tanks has gotten cheaper. Also, it looks like it was built in a dirty environment. Greasy hands, dirt and dust outside. All in all I'm still satisfied. Many Thanks

SW6 DE replaced by SW6DEL. "L" indicates a relay. This is the relay that has 120 AC connected to it. So it comes with an extra DC power cord (orange) that goes to where the 120 volts is connected. It has a yellow wire that goes to ground. I ordered the 232882 Suburban Wall Switch which has an extra switch for this relay. An additional switch was powered by 12 volts DC and reached for the orange wire. Runs on AC and propane gas.

The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the description from Revain states that this unit comes with a door. That's why I bought this one and not the others that didn't come with the door. I called Revane and they sent me another tank. Again no door. I gave up and left the tank. The tank fits great and is working well so far, although we haven't had the chance to use it too much yet.
